Description

The Grattavache Ski Club was founded in 1948 by 11 enthusiasts. In 1970, it merged with the Le Crêt Ski Club and has since been called: SKI-CLUB L’ÉTOILE DE GRATTAVACHE - LE CRÊT. It mainly welcomes cross-country skiing and ski mountaineering enthusiasts. Since its early years, the club has continued to grow its membership, reaching a total of around 100 members today, including more than 50 active members. The club's spirit is based above all on friendship, the pleasure of practicing, teaching, and introducing this sport to as many people as possible. In order to promote its sport, the Etoile Grattavache-Le Crêt Ski Club actively participates in the region's community life and takes part in local events such as August 1st. Every year, it offers initiations to primary schools in the Verrerie school district and collaborates with the “Loisirs pour Tous” association to help people with reduced mobility.

With the help of the Glisse Club Romont, we regularly organize a camp for young cross-country skiers from French-speaking Switzerland. The Etoile Grattavache-Le Crêt ski club organizes two races each year: the Etoile Half Marathon in cross-country skiing and the Grimpette des Alpettes in roller skiing. In addition, we can mention our partnership with the Paccots Trophy as well as the training sessions organized jointly with the Glisse Club Romont. Our cross-country skiers participate in the Fribourg Cup, the Fribourg Championships, and numerous competitions throughout Switzerland (Swiss Cups, Swiss Championships, Engadine Marathon, Mara, etc.), and even abroad (Vasaloppet). Ski mountaineering enthusiasts take part in the various races on the national calendar, the most well-known of which are the Muveran Trophy, the Gastlosen Trophy, and the Patrouille des Glaciers.

In recent years, we have placed a strong emphasis on youth training, with a varied training schedule open to all. Nordic Center Le Crêt – Les Paccots For more than 15 years, we have been affiliated with Romandie Ski de Fond, the umbrella organization that brings together around fifty Nordic Ski Centers active throughout French-speaking Switzerland. Many kilometers of ski slopes are maintained by our many volunteers, and attendance at our Nordic center continues to increase. Since December 2017, a new cross-country ski trail has been available at CUVA (Les Paccots) in an exceptional setting. We are committed to offering all skiers the best possible trails.
