Description

Once upon a time... ...members of the Billens-Hennens youth society who enjoyed leading wedding masses were the origin of the creation of the Guelins choir. The year was 1976. A strange name. Its name comes from the nickname of the inhabitants of Billens in patois, which also means "pedzes," the "not in a hurry." Our choir currently has around thirty members.

Given our proximity to the canton of Vaud, our choir welcomes as many singers from Fribourg as from Vaud. For its 35th anniversary, the choir decided to innovate and set up a first café-concert entitled "Astralement vôtre." The formula was popular, so we created a second café-concert "Bistrot, Boulot, Crescendo" in the fall of 2014, which was once again very well received by the public.

In 2016, for our 40th anniversary, we hosted "Le Kiosque à Musiques" from French-speaking Swiss radio and presented a revue retracing the choir's four decades.

In 2018, four years after our last café-concert, we put together a new creation made in Guelins, "Klaxons & Chansons," which was acclaimed by the public.

In 2022, we created a 100 Names Show based on the theme of first names, which was presented in the fall. To diversify its activities, the choir enjoys engaging in projects of all kinds and is particularly fond of concerts during the Christmas period.
