Description

The Vevey-Montreux Fencing Society (SEVM) is a non-profit association that operates entirely on a volunteer basis. Its mission is to offer fencing to all. To this end, it organizes fencing classes (epee and sabre) based on the age of the participants. The society has a fencing room in Vevey, which can accommodate participants of all levels, from beginners to high-level competitors. Although most of its members come from the Riviera, the society's influence extends throughout the Lake Geneva region; even further to the cantonal level and even to neighboring cantons. A fencing master is available to provide training. However, it should be noted that the practice of the epee remains the weapon practiced by the majority of our members, followed by the sabre. The society offers high-level training and support for fencers who embark on this path.

For those who practice fencing as a hobby, the SEVM offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for fencing with friends. All members benefit from group lessons as well as individual lessons. For beginners, the SEVM provides introductory courses for youth aged 4 to 19, as well as for adults over 20. Upon request, the society also organizes introductory courses for schools, sports clubs, businesses, and private groups. Fencing is not limited to young people. On the contrary, adults, whether seniors or veterans, have an important place in our society. Older members can teach newcomers or younger members. In addition, to encourage interaction, cadet/junior training sessions overlap twice a week with those of seniors/veterans. This allows those who wish to practice with fencers from a different age category.
