Société de musique de Sorens

Founded in 1961, our Music Society, composed of around thirty musicians of all ages, evolves into a brass band with drums. Under the direction of Yahsmina Coutaz, our Society offers its audience a varied and attractive musical program throughout the year. A specialty? Our Halloween Party, which brings together young and old every year for a moment as musical as it is friendly. Our music school, with around twenty young budding musicians, offers children from the age of 4 a complete musical training program recognized by the federal program "Youth and Music". Before joining the ranks of our society, our students refine their musical learning within the Jeunes Musiciens du Gibloux, an ensemble founded in 2015, which brings together young musicians from the villages of Sorens and Châtelard. How to recognize us among other musicians? Easy! We wear a historic "Blue, White, Red" uniform, a replica of the uniform of the Castella Regiment, Fribourg soldiers who served the King of France from 1756.
