Les Sittelles Accordéonistes d’Oron
Description
"Les Sittelles" is an accordion society founded in 1972 and currently led by Rémi Mounes. It is composed of three groups: - The Juniors, young people of school age who meet every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. - The Seniors, "less young" who rehearse from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., also every Wednesday. - Unissons, a group that joins the Seniors one Wednesday a month. Rehearsals take place, with some exceptions, at the Chesalles-sur-Oron middle school and follow the Vaud school calendar. During the year, "Les Sittelles" organizes various events such as: - the annual concerts, which generally take place on the last weekend of January and present a varied program, the result of a year of rehearsals. - the traditional card match organized at the beginning of October. - concerts in EMS, August 1st festivities, collaborations with other societies or choirs in the region are also on the agenda.
In September 2018, "Les Sittelles" had the opportunity to play in Rome for the Swiss Guard, as well as to animate the moments preceding the Sunday Angelus given by the Pope in St. Peter's Square. Also, at the Federal Accordion Festival, in Sursee in June 2024, the "Seniors" group secured 1st place in its category with an "excellent" mention and congratulations from the jury.
